How is reading time estimated?
Reading time assumes an average adult reading speed of about 200 words per minute. It is a guide — technical or dense text reads slower, light text faster.
How are words and sentences counted?
Words are runs of non-space characters. Sentences are counted by sentence-ending punctuation (. ! ?). Paragraphs are blocks separated by blank lines. Everything updates live as you type.
Is my text private?
Yes — counting happens entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored.
