How do I convert a decimal or fraction to a percentage?

How do I find the original price before a discount or tax?

Divide rather than subtract. If $90 is the price after 25% off, the original was 90 ÷ 0.75 = $120. If $114 includes 14% tax, the pre-tax price was 114 ÷ 1.14 = $100.

Can it handle percentages over 100%?

Yes. 150% of 200 is 300, and going from 40 to 100 is a 150% increase. The calculator works with any positive or negative numbers.
