Free age calculator
Enter a date of birth and get the exact age in years, months and days, plus the total days lived and a countdown to the next birthday. Measure to today or to any other date. It all runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is stored.
- Exact to the day: your age in whole years, months and days, not a rounded number of years.
- Total days lived: the full count of days since the birth date, plus the total in months.
- Next birthday countdown: how many days are left until the next one.
- Any date, not just today: set the second date to work out an age in the past or the future.
- Nothing stored: the maths runs in your browser, so the dates you enter never leave the page.
Three steps, about five seconds.
Choose the date of birth in the first field. The result appears as soon as it’s set.
Leave the second field empty to use today, or choose any other date, past or future.
The exact age, total days, total months and the days left until the next birthday, all at once.
Nothing to install. Works wherever you are.
It runs in the browser you already have, on a laptop or a phone. No extension, no account, no download, and no “upgrade to continue” halfway through.
Four things it gets right that mental maths doesn’t.
Leap-year birthdays, handled
Born on 29 February? In years without that date, the calculator counts your birthday on 1 March. So on 28 February 2025 someone born on 29 February 2000 is still 24, and on 1 March they turn 25.
Born 29 Feb 2000
The birthday is counted on 1 March in a year without 29 February.
Real months, not 30-day months
It counts whole calendar months first, then the days left over, instead of dividing by 30. From 30 June 1985 to 15 September 2026 that’s 41 years, 2 months and 16 days.
30 Jun 1985 → 15 Sep 2026
Total days lived
Next to the age you get the total number of days and months since the birth date. Someone born on 10 August 2020 had lived 2,227 days by 15 September 2026.
10 Aug 2020 → 15 Sep 2026 · 73 months · 6 yr 1 mo 5 d
A countdown to the next birthday
It also tells you how many days are left until the next birthday. Measured from 15 September 2026, a 30 June birthday is 288 days away.
Next 30 June birthday, counted from 15 Sep 2026
Four answers from two dates.
Everything below appears together as soon as a birth date is set.
Completed years, then months, then days, the way age is normally counted.
Every day between the two dates, for anniversaries, milestones and forms that ask for it.
The age expressed in months, handy for babies, toddlers and contract terms.
The number of days left until the next birthday, counted from the date you measure to.

Where an age calculator stops.
This works with calendar dates only. It doesn’t know the time or the time zone someone was born in, it uses the Gregorian calendar rather than lunar or other calendars, and it can’t tell you how a particular law, school or insurer counts age. When an official rule applies, that rule wins.
It also can’t know your business. The systems we build for clients work inside your real tools, on your real data, and apply your own rules. That’s AI workflow automation and AI integrations, not a text box.
- Eligibility and deadline checks built on your own rules
- Dates and ages calculated straight from your records
- A person approving anything unusual before it goes out
- Everything inside your forms, CRM or database
Subtracting years is often wrong.
Take the birth year away from this year and you get the right age only if the birthday has already passed. Before it, you’re a year out, and you have no months or days at all.
Counting years, then months, then days gives the answer a form, a contract or a doctor actually means.
“2026 − 1992 = 34”
“33 yr 1 mo 26 d” for someone born on 20 November 1992, measured on 15 January 2026. The birthday hasn’t come round yet.
