Free Grammar Checker: Catch What Your Own Eyes Skip

Reading your own writing is unreliable. Your brain knows what you meant, so it supplies the missing word, corrects the wrong homophone, and skims past the doubled "the" without registering it. Errors hide in plain sight precisely because you wrote them.

A checker does not have that blind spot. Paste your text, pick a level, and see the issues highlighted with suggested fixes.

Three Check Levels

Basic covers grammar alone — the actual errors: misspellings, homophone mistakes, repeated words, agreement problems.

Standard adds style, flagging things that are not wrong but weaken the writing, like passive constructions where an active one would be clearer.

Thorough adds clarity, catching wordy constructions and phrasing that makes a reader work harder than necessary.

Start at Standard for most writing. Use Basic when you only want genuine errors flagged, and Thorough when the piece matters enough to tighten properly.

Colour-Coded, With One-Click Fixes

Issues are highlighted by type — grammar, style, and clarity — so you can see at a glance whether you have a proofreading problem or a writing problem.

Apply all suggestions fixes everything in one action, and Copy corrected text gives you the clean version. Word and sentence counts update as you type.

For a quick email, applying everything is fine. For anything published under your name, read the suggestions individually — some will be wrong for your context.

It Is a Pattern Checker, Not a Proofreader

Being clear about this saves disappointment: this is a rule-based pattern checker. It catches common issues reliably and is not a substitute for human proofreading.

What it catches well: misspellings, homophone confusion (there/their, where/were), repeated words, missing spaces after punctuation, common construction errors.

What it cannot catch: a sentence that is grammatically perfect and factually wrong, a paragraph in the wrong order, a term used inconsistently across a document, or a tone that does not suit the reader.

Use it as a reliable first pass so your own attention goes to meaning and structure rather than hunting typos.

A Realistic Example: A Proposal Going to a Client

A freelancer finishes a proposal at 11pm and has read it four times. She knows she is past the point of seeing it clearly.

She pastes it in at Standard level. Four issues appear: a misspelling in the second paragraph, a doubled word, a missing space after a full stop, and a passive sentence in the pricing section.

Three are genuine typos she had read past repeatedly. The passive sentence she keeps — it is deliberate, softening a line about payment terms. She applies the rest, copies the corrected text, and sends it.

Your Text Stays in Your Browser

Checking happens entirely in your browser. The corrected text is sent only if you opt in to email it to yourself — which matters when the document is a client proposal, a legal letter, or anything you would not paste into an unknown service.

Who Uses It

Students proofreading assignments. Freelancers sending proposals. Non-native English speakers checking flow. Marketers reviewing copy before it goes live. Anyone who has spotted a typo the moment after hitting send. Rewrite tone with the Paraphraser / Rewrite Assistant, condense with the Text Summarizer. For content workflows at scale, our AI integrations service builds them.

Check It Before You Send

The typo you will notice tomorrow is visible right now. Paste your text above, run it at Standard, and fix the three things your eyes skipped.
