Four things it fixes that spellcheck won’t.
Words that are spelled right but wrong
Their and there, where and were, its and it’s. Spellcheck ignores all of them because both words exist. This is the category that makes writing look careless, and it’s the one the checker is best at.

Filler words and wordy phrases
“Very”, “really”, “in order to”. Words that add length without adding meaning. Filler words are flagged as style and wordy phrases as clarity, not grammar, so you can take them or leave them.

Passive sentences and long ones
“The report was written by the manager” takes longer to read than “The manager wrote the report”. They’re marked as style, separately from grammar, because they’re a judgement call, not a rule.

A readability score you can act on
A Flesch score from 0 to 100, with a plain-English label. Above 60 is comfortable for most readers. If it drops, it usually means your sentences are getting long, and the checker shows you which ones.

The mistakes that make you look careless.
The errors spellcheck misses because both words are real words.
Common homophones, doubled words, “should of”, and missing spaces or capitals.
Filler words, passive voice, and sentences that run too long.
Wordy phrases and clichés, with a simpler wording where there is one.
A Flesch score with a plain label, plus word, sentence and average-length counts.

Where a grammar checker stops.
This is a rule-based pattern checker, not a language model. It is fast, private and predictable, and it catches the common mistakes reliably. What it can’t do is judge whether the sentence was worth writing, or whether your email will get a reply. Read it with your own judgement.
